Buoyancy Test #2 The mixture is added to another vat of water to separate the polystyrene from the other materials. The polystyrene is very buoyant due to the pentane gas. The product resembles what is commonly referred to as Styrofoam. Unique to Ickenarker, the polystyrene is ready to be cut and used straight from the plant. Instead of plain polystyrene - like other recycling facilities - our polystyrene is ready for packaging or other usage, due to the pentane. Profit is high on this finished product.
