The Crusher
The remaining objects -- glass, aluminum, and the six types of plastic -- will be crushed while on the conveyer belt. The conveyer belt is grated like a sieve. Because glass is the only material that will break under pressure, it will fall through the conveyer belt, dropping into a ramp below which will carry it to it's final bin. The holes in the conveyer belt will only allow pieces of a quarter-inch diameter to fall through. Otherwise, it is pulverized by the crushers until it is small enough. The granules of glass are then ready to be sold to the product manufacturer.
