Methyl Ethyl Alcohol

Remaining material is added to a holding container filled with methyl ethyl alcohol. This reacts with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) to form a dissolved solution.

About Methyl Ethyl Alcohol

Methyl ethyl alcohol is extremely flammable, so extreme precautions are taken at the Ickenarker plant. All employees are properly trained regarding MEA and toluene. All surfaces are grounded with electrical ground clips, which contact bare metal. Smoking is prohibited on Ickenarker Recyclables grounds. Non-sparking ventilation systems are used in this specific section of the facility.

Methyl ethyl alcohol is stable when exposed to air, moisture, and heat. The acute toxicity is low for this colorless liquid.
