Welcome to The Farnsworth House! We offer one of the most enjoyable experiences in the beautiful Western Pennsylvania area. Built in 1968, by John Farnsworth on fifth generation property, the house and adjoining workrooms served Farnsworth's restoration business for player pianos and organs...a business continued by one of your hosts, Jon Perry, formerly of Buffalo, New York.

You needn't be a music lover to be awed by the sounds of the 1920's Aeolian Duo Art residence player pipe organ permanently installed in the main living room. For piano enthusiasts, you can hear George Gershwin playing his Rhapsody In Blue on one of the several player pianos, or play one of the pianos yourself. Perhaps you'll have the good fortune to peek at the workshop where antique keyboard instruments from all over the world are awaiting restoration. Nevertheless, you'll enjoy Farnsworth house during your overnight visit.


East Run Road in the town of Marion Center is located in Indiana County. Unfortunately, it is not on many maps. Please use this great mapping utility to find our approximate location. Please e-mail us for the directions off of the main road. Being off of the main road does have its advantages, that's why you'll enjoy a quiet retreat to a place surrounded by open fields, deer feeding in the meadow, and a variety of small game. You may enjoy our bricked courtyard or maybe even a walk along a country road.

Inside Farnsworth House are many treats. Our dining room is lit with gas lights. At the top of the winding stairway is a library with an 18-foot ceiling that could have inspired the stage setting for My Fair Lady. A cozy fire on cool evenings welcomes you after a long day. If you enjoy reading, you can select a book from the 1000 volumes on the bookshelves. You might want to play pool at the one end of the library far from the television machine.

Three guest rooms are offered, each with private bath. Our fresh air and quiet location provides a restful night and prepares you for a farmer's style breakfast. Our dining room seats eight, but you might prefer the kitchen nook that looks out on the meadow.

We can cater your private function:blue jeans or black tie;celebrations, anniversaries, small business meetings, receptions, parties, weddings, victorian teas, showers, bridge clubs, or fund raisers. Personal consultation is available. We have an in-house catering service!
