5th week of pregnancy
The Mom will start to look pregnant and her mammory glands will start to develop. The puppies will develope toes, whisker buds, and claws. The fetuses will now look like dogs and
you can tell sexes.
WEEK by WEEK development of a litter.
6th week of pregnancy
This week the puppies develope
skin pigment and the fetal heartbeats
can be heard with a stethoscope.
We'll assemble the whelping box and it will be a big hit with all the dogs.
The puppies will be born in this box.
The rails around the inside of the box
will protect the puppies from Mom accidentially laying on them or squeez-
ing them against the sides of the box.
Heidi thinks the box will be
just perfect for new puppies.
Heidi, Magnum, and Shasta
try it out.
This week Mom won't have much to do except take it easy and be pampered.
I'll put the whelping kit together and make sure we are ready for the delivery.
